Mike Leprieur, Great Little Box Company’s New Director of Operations

RICHMOND, BC  —  Magna Search Group is thrilled to announce and congratulate Mike Leprieur on his recent appointment as the new Director of Operations at Great Little Box Company (GLBC).

Mike Leprieur has extensive experience in operations management with considerable exposure to Gemba Walks, Lean Principles, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizens. He has honed his skills in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing in a variety of industries including Food, Capital Projects, Nuclear Power and Pulp/Paper. Mike joins GLBC from Two Rivers Specialty Meats where he was the Director of Operations. Throughout his career, he has led many cross-functional projects that required working collaboratively with teams across all departments. While at Two Rivers, he led initiatives that reduced safety recordables by 60% through better understanding and calibration of risks. He also led Time Study Analyses on order picking that identified challenges in efficiency, and resulted in an action plan that increased order picking productivity by 18%. Mike’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in History (BA) and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Victoria. Additionally, Mike holds Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Wilfrid Laurier University and designations as a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mike’s professional experience coupled with his educational background, leadership experience and operations prowess make him an excellent fit for GLBC’s strategic outlook. We could not be more excited for Mike as he begins his journey at GLBC.

Stephen Butterfield is a well respected, and highly regarded Senior Drafter with 8 years of Revit use and 10 years of total experience as a Draftsman. Stephen has worked on wood-framed hotels, apartments & houses, concrete parking structures with post tension slabs, masonry and steel office buildings, concrete tilt-up warehouses, and ground-breaking and unique projects. He sits with a Degree in Computer Drafting and Design at ITT-Technical Institute. Some of his most prominent projects include: University Parkway Office Building, Overstock’s Corporate Building, Replay at The Canyons Hotel, Hyatt House Hotel, Lone Peak – Retail and Apartment Building, Wollam Construction Building, Davis Vision Center, and Springhill Suites Hotel.

Magna’s recruitment team conducted a national recruit for the BIM Modeler opening on behalf of MKA. We are extremely proud of this announcement and wish Stephen every success in adding MKA to the companies that he will be able to help influence and steer to new heights!

He has designed and administered company training programs for over 60 staff members, while managing goals and performance reviews. Over his career John has worked on a wide range of project types including: Hospitals, Luxury & Resort Hotels, Multi-family High-rise, Municipal, High End Senior Living Campuses, Industrial / Manufacturing, K-12 and Higher Education. He has held a variety of leadership roles over the past 14 years, beginning as Molding Manager at Coopervision, Reuben also previously served as a Director of Operations at Spacelabs Healthcare. His career experiences have been in a Manufacturing setting in the Aerospace and Medical Device industries. As his true passion lies in Aerospace, Reuben couldn’t be more excited about getting into AvtechTyee’s Machine shop and back to his roots.

Reuben’s passion and background in the Aerospace industry in a Manufacturing environment truly make him a perfect match to streamline AvtechTyee’s Manufacturing Operations and add significant improvements to the facility. Gordon Campbell has 14 years of progressive leadership and category management experience from Sysco Food Services, building strong teams through engagement and enablement, maximizing revenue through sales, supplier agreements, and KPI results, and additionally driving operational efficiencies. His career has consisted of retail management experience in sales and operations with Zeller’s, and multi-site leadership with Macs Convenience and Petroleum, and most recently a regional leadership role for the Alberta market for a collective 16 years in a leadership capacity. Gordon has a Bachelor’s of Commerce with a major in Organizational Behaviour and a minor in Marketing. The majority of his career has been focused on delivering net costs through leveraging supplier agreements, volume incentives and rebate programs, while providing customer value, maximizing profits, penetration, and new business. Gordon has completed pricing models, inclusive of rebates, bill backs, and allowances, within all product categories non-foods and consumables for customers in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories.

With respect to refining category sourcing strategies, Gordon utilizes a refined sourcing process; which is focused on a balance of cost and leveraging volume purchases, service level standards, and overall value through optimal assortment. His approach to supplier agreements is reflective of their customers’ needs, leveraging cost with a preferred partner, and further with strong secondary partners/suppliers that meets the needs of their customers, their organization, and their profit models. Financial forecasting is critical within Gordon’s current role. his departmental budgeting and performance to plan are key drivers to organizational pre-tax earnings, and as such collaborative activities, actions, and sales and margin scenarios are reviewed ongoingly.

Within his past roles, Gordon has had varying sizes of teams, direct reports and indirect reports, within both associate and management capacities. As a member of the executive team, he is a leader to all associates and is responsible to create an environment where all associates can achieve operational excellence.

Prior to joining Cummins, Mike held numerous positions while employed at Versacold, including that of Occupational Health and Safety Manager. He possesses a unique expertise and a combination of skills that are invaluable to building trust and confidence in leadership teams, from the front line supervisors right up to the executive team and CEO. Mike has been responsible for OH&S for numerous business units in Western Canada, and was overseeing the safety programs at 24 branches ranging in total of 1500 employees. He regularly conducts branch safety audits to gauge risk and regulatory compliance not only to WCB but also other pertinent regulatory bodies, such as BC Safety Authority and Environment Canada. He has a positive approach and has developed strong relationships with the entire management team. Whether it be the new supervisor or a long term veteran of the team, he has managed to change perceptions about safety and demonstrate the positive personal and financial outcomes of a strong safety program. Mike has made a measurable financial impact over his tenure, and has identified numerous opportunities to reduce WCB premiums through accident and claims reductions.

In addition to his experience, Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Victoria. The mixture of Mike’s skills, experience, safety training, dedication and ingenuity are key reasons for him to now being recognized as an industry leader in safety.

Torry Lewis is a dynamic accounting and finance leader with a specialty in Real Estate and Asset Management. His ability to lead, train, and think outside of the box, coupled with years of accounting experience, is the key to his executive level success. Torry was previously employed at Lincoln Property Company Atlanta as an Assistant Controller. He has directly managed teams of 10+ individuals and has had indirect oversight of approximately 50 individuals over the span of his career.

Torry has taken oversight of all corporate financial and accounting operations in real estate development, construction, and third party joint venture portfolios. He is experienced in analyzing and reviewing monthly financial and budget preparations and considers himself a self-starting team player who is goal oriented, with proven ability to train and develop people.

He holds a Master’s in Public Administration alongside a BBA in Accounting. We’re excited to see Torry’s career build in his new leadership role.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT  —  MES, Magna’s Executive Search division is extremely pleased to congratulate George Benford on his recent appointment as the new Engineering Office Leader for Parametrix, in Salt Lake City.

George Benford brings over 40 years of experience in the engineering industry, including 19 years in the private sector and 22 in the public sector. George earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at Memphis State University and has an ASCE certification in Civil Engineering. For the last several decades, George has participated in all phases of project design, construction, planning, and studies for transportation, utilities, environmental studies, traffic studies, and public involvement. He has proven experience as a primary decision maker and senior executive/manager, having supervised over 270 full-time employees as his career matured, and possesses a background developing staff programs and producing collaborative and fulfilling work environments. Moreover, George has forged strong client relationships with senior and executive staff at Utah Department of Transportation, Utah Transit Authority, and most of the cities, countries, service districts, major developers, government agencies and academia in Northern Utah.

Parametrix’s Salt Lake City office has approximately 10 staff providing services in transportation and environmental planning, urban design, and traffic engineering to public agencies throughout the region, including the Utah Department of Transportation. The office was established in 2015 when Parametrix acquired InterPlan.

Magna Executive Search conducted a national recruit for the Salt Lake City office on behalf of Parametrix, and could not be more pleased to see George’s journey continue.
